NET GAY BAROMÈTRE #2022 #CA

The NET LGBTQ+ BAROMÈTRE 2022

This edition of the Net Gay Barometer questions lifestyles, online dating, sexuality, prevention and health of people of sexual or gender diversity. It seeks to assess the impact of COVID-19 and social distancing measures on these dimensions.

The various LGBTQ+ editions of the Net Gay Barometer deal with Internet use, sexuality and prevention, and are aimed at men (cis and trans) who have sex with men (cis and trans) or with trans women, as well as to any other person of sexual or gender diversity*.

The 2021 version of the questionnaire is the fourth edition of a study repeated every five years, in Canada, since 2004: the Net Gay Baromètre (NGB). It was first designed to understand the realities of men who have sex with men (MSM), since they represent a population very affected by HIV and other STIs. However, other populations from sexual and gender diversity are also affected by these issues and experience other relatively common social and health problems. Consequently, since 2018, the NGB has also invited anyone of sexual and gender diversity* to participate.

The 2021 edition takes into account the impact of COVID-19 on online dating, sexuality, partnered life, lifestyles in terms of relationship needs, sexual and mental health, as well as ties to LGBTQ+ communities.
This questionnaire takes approximately 20 minutes to complete. Each participant does not have to complete all sections.

We are counting on your participation in this research, as it consists of a positive feedback on oneself through one's social and emotional life, one's health, and one's sexuality, while seeking to measure the impact of COVID on our communities.

**We are aware that many relational or gender figures are not covered in this study. This survey hardly addresses sexuality between cis women, for example, and we had to opt for an inclusive binary language which makes it more difficult for non-binary or intersex people to express their realities. Given the scarcity of data on the health of people of sexual and gender diversity, we hope that the current edition will still provide relevant data on their lives and their health.
